Trinity Lutheran Church
Frankfort, MI
Friday Bible Study
This study meets every week at 7:00 AM in the Johnson Community Hall. We focus on the Gospel lesson for the coming Sunday. Led by Pastor Rick (mostly), the study is made up of about 12-15 people who gather to share, laugh and engage in a meaningful discussion of God’s Word.
Miriam Bible Study
Following the study offered in the Lutheran Women Today magazine, the Miriam study meets on the first Tuesday of each month at 1:30 PM. Organized called together by Pauline Baver these past number of years, the Miriam Bible Study is a faithful group of women who gather for an excellent, enthusiastic study of God’s word. Led by Pastor Rick most months, Miriam usually gathers with 10-20 women.
Sunday Morning Bible Study
Usually led by former college professor, Bob Zwinck – this study had been recently making its way through the Bible (book by book), tackling a book of the Bible each Sunday. Attended by Trinity’s pastors, this study is primarily Lay led.
Other Studies are held on Wednesday Nights following the Community Dinners.
Past topics have included “Elephants in the Church” (really BIG, controversial topics) – book studies – grief support – humor in the Bible – The Small Catechism – Martin Lutheran – and other current topics in the news and culture.
Confirmation Classes
Are offered for all youth in the 7th and 8th-grades. The two-year study helps prepare those who attend for adult membership in the Church. The focus of this study is Luther’s Small Catechism, The Bible, and connections between our Faith and our Daily Life. Pastor Rick normally leads this study. They normally meet on Saturday mornings at 10:00 AM (the first Sunday of each month at The Lighthouse Café for breakfast!)
Sunday School Classes
During the nine-months of the school year, Sunday School is offered for all children – from Preschool to 6th-Grade. The kids meet with teachers from 9:45 – 10:45 AM in the newly-remodeled Education Wing at Trinity. Vacation Bible School is also offered for one week each summer – usually in conjunction with another local congregation.
Movie Night at Trinity
Pastor Jim has also been holding special Movie Nights at Trinity – showing films that often have a connection to our life of faith (although not always!). The people attending are treated to freshly-popped popcorn, a good movie, and some time of fellowship at the Wednesday Dinner which precedes the movie.
