Trinity Lutheran Church
Frankfort, MI
Trinity has been blessed by some very generous members and friends of the congregation. Here are a few of the ways that personal stewardship can benefit and grow ministry in the Church – through Trinity:
General Fund – All members are encouraged to examine their hearts (and finances) each year, and consider their support of the congregation. All the giving that is received at Trinity is voluntary, and the Mission and Life of this congregation depend on the generous gifts of those who attend, participate and give. The General Fund receives the majority of these gifts – and most of the bills, staff salaries and maintenance is paid from this support. The yearly budget is about $215,000 (’09).
Capital Campaign Fund – This fund’s goal is to pay off the Mortgage on the new building addition… as well as to make needed improvements in and around the church structure. Over $600,000 has been received to date (Sept. ’09) – as we are over ½ way to paying off the building and furnishings! Gifts to this fund are appreciated, and Trinity encourages members to consider gifts of stock and bonds, as well as gifts-in-kind.
Memorials – Many gifts are received by Trinity each year “In Memory” or “In Honor” of a person. Most of these gifts come through the Memorials given to the congregation. These funds are traditionally used to make more-or-less “permanent improvements” to the congregation… such as the purchase of Hymnals, worship furnishings, sound system purchases and other needed enhancements.
Endowment Fund – Trinity’s Endowment Fund is a relatively new fund that seeks to provide members and friends with a way to give “that will last forever.” The principal donated will never be spent, but rather only the interest will be used for fulfilling Trinity’s mission to “reach out to the community” – and especially those in greatest need. The Endowment Fund will be used to support and begin new ministries that seek to accomplish these goals.
Other ways to share gifts with Trinity include: Abbie’s Angels, the Men’s Group, Garden of Remembrance, and in support of the Youth Groups at Trinity.
And of course, the easiest way to offer support to this congregation – is to consider the donation of your time and energy, shared in any area of ministry as we seek to be the presence of God’s grace in Christ to all the world around us!
